Pattycake Vegan Bakery is a family-owned dessert bakery located in Clintonville at 3009 N. High St. At Pattycake, our first priority is delicious goodies that will satisfy the most exacting taste buds. Next we consider the effect our products will have on the health of our customers and the impact our production will have on the Earth and our community of living beings. To those ends we do many things that are surprisingly still uncommon for most commercial bakeries.
For example, we use no hydrogenated oils and minimally refined sugars. We use primarily organic ingredients in all of our products. We use many local seasonal ingredients, and some fair trade. In our store, we recycle and use recycled boxes for wholesale and retail. We compost our food waste and make some of our deliveries by bike.
Also, Pattycake goodies are 100% vegan. This means that nothing we use requires the harming and exploitation of animals. We have developed many techniques to replace eggs and butter in classic treats with healthier and kinder ingredients with no loss of taste and texture. The benefits of decreasing our consumption of factory-farmed animal products extend beyond the animals to the environment and our health.
